6:20 . Don't get me started on Mortgages. We went to three BANKS, 2 lenders and all turned us down. Even with 51.5% down on a house worth 448,000//00 which we bid on at 270,000.00 . I"m retired and wife works. It was like pure hell. The house we purchased is a 1944 4 split level home, with garage. Its all maintenance updated to do. The roof on the 2:12 slope garage im going with a roll on rubber coating, (after i strip the shingles, air it out one week, reinforce any issues on roof.) then doing a self adhesive GAF roll system. All joints I'm thinking of using fiberglass mesh and rubber sealant. Love the videos and nice to see you'll both taking it in stride. God Bless yo sir and stay safe.

Here in New Zealand it's mandatory to use stainless steel screws and bolts on external decks etc.

Dude the Deck should not be level for water run off.

How were the rafters fastened to the top plates? I am building something similar and not sure if I need to use hurricane ties, birdsmouth cuts, etc

Hello, I have 1980s home. Starting a full basement remodeling, basically demoing everything to concrete walls. I plan to install subfloor. A part of the basement has vinyl glued to concrete. My gutters tells me I should get that out too to be level with the rest of the basement, but I am unsure what to do. What is recommended in this case? Thank you!

Looks great! I am building a 24x24’ floating deck and need to have it done in a week. I am placing it on a grassy area that is not level, and we are not using deck blocks because we live in the country and we don’t want critters getting underneath or bees. We’re building on the ground. Any suggestions for getting it level? Can we just shim the low areas.? I’ve never built a deck before. Do not have experience, but this looks simple enough. Also, would you recommend building it in one big 24 x 24 section or would you recommend building it in two or four smaller sections? Thanks!

Clearly this did not turn out because it was for sale for a little over 400K and it did not sell. I think the plan for this was far over budget for the area considering this is in the middle of the country away from any city setting. Making money off renovating or building is definitely profitable. But not everything needs/ makes sense to renovate.

Do you have any video on how to straighten the wall? That was hardest thing during my shower renovation.
